The second Cravebox arrived in the mail last week and it had some awesome products included. I have been sick for a few weeks, so I was pleased to see that the theme this month (The 2012 Vitality Box, your health inside & out) was exactly what I needed! I haven't used all of the products yet, but the few I have are great.

Emergen-C is my absolute favorite way to fight and prevent colds. The directions say to mix it with water, but I like to use orange juice instead. It makes the orange juice fizzy and gives it a little kick and extra boost of vitamin C.

The mereadesso Face + Neck Toning Gel came at the perfect time. The day after the Cravebox arrived I was sitting in bed with my husband and two-year-old daughter "C". She pointed to a zit on my chin and said, "Aww Mommy, you have an ouchy!". Then she asked if I wanted a bandaid. Sweet, right? Then she pointed to my forehead and said the same thing. I assumed there was a blemish I hadn't noticed before and just played along. A moment later my husband said, "You know she's pointing to your wrinkles, right?" Sweet.

Today is my first day wearing the Switch2Health S2H STEP Pedometer with Points. It tracks how many steps you take during the day and after 10,000 steps you get a reward code that you can upload to your account on S2H.com. I still need to create my account, but hopefully it is easy and the free version has everything I might want!

A bottle of Colavita Extra Virgin Olive Oil was included because it claims to be "cholesterol-free, nutrient-rich and delicious." I am really looking forward to trying this olive oil out, and the timing (again) was perfect. I was listening to NPR a few weeks ago and Tom Mueller, author of Extra Virginity: The Sublime and Scandalous World of Olive Oil, ​was the guest on the show. It sounded like an intriguing book and I learned more than I thought possible about the olive oil industry, uses for olive oil, and facts about olive oil. He talked about the taste and texture and color like people talk about wines. Unfortunately, Colavita is not a brand that gets ratings for being a true extra virgin olive oil in tests that I have found, but maybe things have changed. I will have to look into it more and find out.
 

The last thing included in this month's Cravebox was an introductory issue and 1-year subscription to Prevention Magazine. That was unexpected and neat, because this is the type of thing I spend money on due to standing in the checkout line for too long. I also love the tips and articles in Prevention, and the size makes it perfect for carrying in my purse when I might need to have something to read.
